Thank you so much

The Calypso project team would like to say an enormous thank you for all of the support and generous donations that have been given to the project.  We really couldn’t have done it without you.

Together with Barbados Council for the Disabled and many other partners locally and globally, this project has enabled more connections to be made and raised awareness of the deaf community and their experiences.

We felt that this was such an important project as it has given the local deaf community in Barbados a voice to share their stories, their needs and wishes for the future.

Music, along with visual arts and workshops, have been the tools we have used to bring the deaf community together to lay foundations for the future.  Many people may not have expected the combination of deaf people and music to work so well, but as deaf musicians ourselves, we know and understand the unexplainable power of music to bring people together.  At the end of day, anyone could acquire deafness, regardless of their age, status and background; it doesn’t discriminate, but neither does music.  We hope that the foundations we have made can be built upon to integrate a stronger deaf community more firmly into society.

Please keep an eye out for developments and the latest project news on our website and social media channels.
