Music videos
Music videos will be recorded to accompany each of the three tracks produced by Sean Forbes.
These will be shot on the island and will give local Deaf residents the chance to be involved in their production.
Acclaimed Deaf filmmaker, Adrean Mangiardi, will run a series of training sessions, offering an insight into a typically closed industry in the hope that Deaf residents will access a new career path, bolster their CV, and ultimately gain paid employment. On set, we shall recruit Deaf residents to support production across a number of roles; from runners to lighting crew and everything in between.
We are committed to the project’s aim of creating employment for Deaf residents in the creative industries and we hope that through the recording of these videos we will instill the skills and confidence needed to achieve this.
And it’s not just behind the camera, on screen we shall feature young musicians from Barbados Community College and a series of Deaf performers too. We’d like to thank BCC for their support, especially the teachings of Teddy Calderon, Roger Gittens and Andre Forde. These videos promote the collaboration of hearing and Deaf musicians and show that music truly is a uniting force.
