The Calypso Project 2022 culminates in a concert held in the very heart of the city center at the Frank Collymore Hall in November. Deaf children from Irving Wilson School will be given the opportunity to be center stage by joining professional musicians from Barbados Community College (BCC) to perform a series of pieces which represent the sound and spirit of the Caribbean.

Joining them will be internationally renowned rap artists, Sean Forbes and Wawa, who will work with the children to create 3 new tracks which tell the story they want to be heard. The children have participated in percussion workshops run by the BCC, designed to show that deafness is not a barrier to music.

This will be the first of its kind to be hosted on the Island and will unite both communities via the medium of music.  The concert is free to attend and shall be simultaneously live broadcast via the internet. Full booking details shall be provided in due course.
Alongside the concert shall be an exhibition, read on for full details.
